Dear Trinity family,
I hope this finds you safe and enjoying the warm days with your families. In our last update, I stated that today, July 22, Trinity would release more information concerning our plans for opening in-person learning this September. As some of you may know, Governor Brown held a press conference this morning announcing new Statewide rules to combat Covid-19. In response to these new policies, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) has also updated its guidelines for schools. You can read the ODE’s Ready Schools, Safe Learners Guidance, Version 2.7.2 here. Furthermore, the Oregon Health Authority and Deschutes County plan to provide guidance to schools on the implementation of these new regulations early next week. In light of these new updates, I ask for your patience as we take a little more time to process and adjust our plans based on the guidelines from the State. You can expect this update by Wednesday, July 29.
I would also like to thank many of you for submitting your questions to us over the last few weeks. Our staff has been developing a FAQ section for our Reopening Plan based on the questions you sent in. Unfortunately, the release of this section also needs to be delayed due to the impact on our answers by the new guidelines from ODE and the State. We will release the FAQ section along with our school opening update on July 29 as well.
Please know our hearts go out to our families as we navigate together the many questions and decisions we have in front of us. To help with some of the burdens of uncertainty, we have moved the deadline for a 100% refund of tuition from Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 17. We want everyone to feel confident that sending your children to Trinity is the right choice for your family.
If you have any questions, as always, please reach out.
be God’s,
Gregg Pinick
